Mr. Bill Wilson, age 92, of Spruce Pine, passed away Thursday evening, August 6, 2026 at Mission McDowell Hospital.

He was born on September 10, 1933 in Mitchell County. He was the son of the late Clarence Wilson and Edith Johnson Wilson.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-six years, Emma Lee McCall Wilson.

Bill was a member of First Baptist Church Spruce Pine where he served in many capacities for over 40 years. He was the proud owner of Toe River Auto Parts in Spruce Pine. He and his late wife enjoyed retirement with many trips and travels. Bill was a member of Vesper Lodge #554 A.F. A.M. of Spruce Pine, where he was a Past-Master. Bill greatly enjoyed spending time with his family whether it be on an oceanfront balcony, the back porch, or in a gymnasium watching his granddaughter play.

Left to cherish in his memory is his daughter, Lisa Garland and her husband, Keith; one granddaughter, Emily Miller and her husband, Tanner; two great grandsons Reece Greer and Owen McCall; his sister Becky Pitman and husband Jerry; niece Pam Pitman; nephew Steve Pitman and wife Chasity; and great niece Harper Pitman. He also leaves behind many close friends who will greatly miss him.

A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Monday, August 10th, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Spruce Pine. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 10, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Spruce Pine with Dr. Rocky Branch and Rev. Dean Honeycutt officitating. Entombment will follow in the Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum with a Masonic Funeral Rite.
