Charles Robert Murr, age 90, of Yoder Farm Road in Hickory passed away, Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Catawba Assisted Living in Claremont. Born on November 13, 1935 in Avery County, he was the son of the late Robert and Frankie Oaks Murr.

 In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mable Murr who passed away in 2011 and a sister; Linda Wilson. Charles attended the Peoples Church on Roaring Creek Road and was retired from Henredon Furniture in Spruce Pine. Before his declining health, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

 Left to cherish his memories is brother; Jim Blair of Hickory, his nieces; Kim Isner and Robin Ross and his nephews; Robert Wilson and Jeff Wilson.

 Graveside services and interment will be on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 12:00 noon at the Hughes Cemetery with Pastor Robert Mitchell officiating. 

The care of the Murr family has been entrusted with Beam Tri-County Funeral Service.
