John William Grant, age 82, of Pansy Lane in Newland, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at the Cranberry House.

Born on January 15, 1944 in Carter County, TN, he was the son of the late William John Grant and the late Lelia Bethsada Potter Grant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Marie Falin Grant who passed away in 2014. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Donald Grant and a sister, Maime Swain.

John was a member of Laurel Fork Church of Christ. He enjoyed listening to gospel music. He loved his family and especially loved his grandchildren. He also loved working in his garden. He also enjoyed 'Little Debbie' cakes.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughters; Cecilia Braswell (Keith) and Rebecca Sue Grant, his sons; William Blaine Grant and McDaniel Jay Grant, his sisters; Barbara Harmon and Peggy Pippin and eleven grandchildren.

No formal services are currently planned.
