Chris Pitman is a lifelong resident of Mitchell County and a respected leader in both his community and the funeral service profession. He is a devoted member and deacon of Mitchell Baptist Church and has dedicated his life to serving others with compassion, integrity, and faith.
Chris is a licensed funeral director, embalmer, and pre-need agent with 48 years of experience in the funeral industry. He is a graduate of Mitchell High School, Mayland Community College, and Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service, combining local roots with professional excellence and education.
For more than four decades, Chris has faithfully guided families through some of life’s most difficult moments, providing comfort, dignity, and trusted care. His personal philosophy reflects his lifelong commitment to service:

Chris has been happily married to his wife, Pam Sparks Pitman, for 42 years. They are proud parents of Mallory Middleton and her husband John, and Jesse Pitman and his wife Lainey. He is also a proud grandfather to Naomi and Ember, with a grandson expected to arrive in June.

Alvin Carpenter
Funeral Service Associate
Alvin joined the Beam-Tri County team in 2026. He is a lifelong resident of Spruce Pine, where he and his wife Dee live. Alvin has two adult daughters Karen and Emily. He is a Southern Baptist minister, and is currently the pastor of New Life Baptist Church in Newland, NC. Alvin is a Past Master of Vesper Lodge #554 AF & AM, and District 37 Deputy Grand Master, Grand Lodge of North Carolina.

Cindy Ollis
Cindy Ollis joined the staff of Beam Tri-County Funeral service in May of 2026. She lives in the
Grassy Creek community of Spruce Pine. She is married to Walter Ben Ollis. She is a member
of the Grassy Creek Baptist Church. She served as the church custodian prior to entering the
funeral service. She is very passionate about her service to our client families. ‘At a time when
families face some of life’s most challenging moments, I am dedicated to providing
compassionate care and support. My role as a funeral assistant is to guide families through
their grief with dignity and respect, ensuring that they feel supported every step of the way. I
genuinely believe in treating every individual with kindness and understanding’ In her spare
time, Cindy enjoys reading and exploring new things through books.
